Talks scheduled: Liverpool on verge of signing attacker from second-placed club - report
Liverpool are on the verge of signing attacker Christian Koffi from Monaco, according to a report.
French newspaper L’Equipe claims on their website that Koffi, 17, is approaching the end of his contract with the Ligue 1 title-holders and is scheduled to hold talks with Liverpool in the coming days.
It is understood that the Reds are very interested in the teenager, who is also attracting attention from a number of big European clubs.
L’Equipe says that Koffi is very similar in style to Sadio Mane with his technical abilities in the attacking midfield positions.
Monaco are currently second in Ligue 1, 16 points behind runaway leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool look as though they are signing a very promising young talent in Koffi, and they should be able to get it done fairly cheaply considering the teenager is approaching the end of his deal with the ultra-rich Ligue 1 giants. The Reds will have done well to beat a host of European teams to getting his signature and that is perhaps down to Jurgen Klopp’s reputation and how he has developed younger players during his career. He has not done as much at Liverpool as he did at Borussia Dortmund but it’s still early days and Conor Masterson’s appearance on the bench against Manchester City on Wednesday night will be encouraging.
In other Liverpool news, Piers Morgan has claimed Klopp has transformed this £120,000-a-week Reds player.
