Piers Morgan believes that Jurgen Klopp has transformed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after he left Arsenal and joined Liverpool in the summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 24, scored a stunning goal for the Reds on Wednesday night as they hammered Manchester City 3-0 at Anfield in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.

And celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan claims that is what everyone should have been seeing from the midfielder during his time in North London.

"He's been transformed under Klopp, to the player he should have been at Arsenal," said Morgan on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night.

The Mirror reports that Oxlade-Chamberlain earns £120,000-a-week in his deal at Liverpool after turning down the chance to earn more money at the Emirates.

He has made 41 appearances in all competitions this term for the Reds, scoring five goals and supplying six assists in the process.

Football Insider verdict

It is perhaps an over-exaggeration to claim that Klopp has transformed Oxlade-Chambrlain. At Arsenal, the ex-Southampton player was never given a consistent chance to impress in the first-team and was also played out wide. All Klopp has done is play him more often and in a more central role, where he would have had no chance of playing at Arsenal with the likes of Mesut Ozil in the side. That simple change is seemingly all that was needed to get Oxlade-Chamberlain to find his feet. Still, the England international has some improving to do because he's not exactly been a stand-out this term.
