Kalvin Phillips would be 'tempted' by Newcastle United amid 'serious' offer claim - pundit
Kevin Campbell suspects Kalvin Phillips would be “tempted” by a “serious” offer from Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Premier League striker suggested Leeds United could cash in on 26-year-old to fund a rebuild at Elland Road.
According to the Mirror (4 April), the Magpies are prepared to offer Phillips £120,000-a-week to move to St. James’ Park this summer.
The England international’s contract at Elland Road expires at the end of June 2024.
Phillips has recently returned from a hamstring injury which kept him out for three months.
When asked for his assessment of Phillips’ future, Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs: “I think he’d be tempted by Newcastle.

“The numbers could be serious for a player like Kalvin Phillips. He is a top player who is strong, an England international and is getting better every season.
“Leeds will be desperate to keep hold of him but I’m not sure if they will.
“I truly believe that if Leeds want to rebuild they need to cash in on some of their players. They might have to do some selling to strengthen their squad. Their squad is nowhere near strong enough. They are nowhere near as strong as they should be.
“They might have to move and shake. That could see a couple of players leaving, perhaps Raphinha and Phillips. That would give them the money to make that squad stronger.”
