At least four Tottenham players will leave in the summer because the team have made “zero progress” under Jose Mourinho.
That is according to ex-Premier League forward Noel Whelan who, in exclusive conversation with Football Insider, predicted that Harry Kane, Gareth Bale, Serge Aurier and Hugo Lloris would be among the first players to depart.
Kane has been the subject of intense transfer speculation after telling Sky Sports that he will consider his Spurs future after the Euros.
Bale recently hinted that he will return to Real Madrid upon the completion of his loan spell in North London.
Whelan blasted Spurs for a lack of ambition and forecasted a “strange old summer” full of high-profile departures.
He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “Lloris will be leaving, Aurier will be leaving. We’ll see the back of Harry Kane, Bale too.
“There are quite a few other players that will want to leave. It’s going to be a strange old summer for Tottenham. There will be a lot of worried fans out there.
“Harry Kane wanted to see some ambition this year. That’s the only reason he stayed. But that hasn’t come to fruition at all. They’ve made zero progress.”
The German champions are understood to be prepared to wait a year before making their move.
