Kane could sign new Tottenham contract amid Man City update via Times - pundit
Harry Kane will be forgiven by Tottenham fans and teammates if the striker signs a new contract, according to Paul Robinson.
The former Spurs goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the Spurs dressing room would welcome the 28-year-old back in if he does stay this month.
As reported by the The Times (August 15th), Kane is growing increasingly likely to remain at Tottenham as Daniel Levy stands firm in his desire to keep the striker.
The report claims Spurs feel Manchester City have left it too late to negotiate a deal.
The Daily Mail (August 17th) report that the Tottenham chairman is refusing to entertain bids under his £150million valuation.
Robinson claimed Kane’s teammates would sympathise with Kane over the saga.

However, he suggested the only way to win everyone at Spurs over would be to sign a new contract.
“I don’t think the players will have a problem if he stays,” Robinson told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“I’ve been in dressing rooms where players have wanted away but the deals don’t happen. Footballers understand how these deals can work and most fans do as well.
“The only way the situation can be resolved in a positive outcome for Spurs and their fans is for Harry Kane to sign a new deal. To commit his future to the club.
“I don’t think the position is untenable. If he signs a new deal, and I can see it happening, then fans will quickly forgive and forget because of the legacy Kane has.
“Spurs were so good against City. If you put Kane and a couple of new additions into that side, it looks a strong team.
“Daniel Levy holds all the cards at the moment, with City the only team interested.”
