Kenny 'concerned' by what he's seen at Sheffield United after Davies update
Paddy Kenny has insisted defensive problems for Sheffield United are “concerning” after Preston grabbed a late equaliser on Tuesday.
The former Blades goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the absence of Ben Davies has left the Yorkshire club short at the back.
According to The Athletic’s Sheffield United writer Richard Sutcliffe, Davies will return from a calf injury “soon”, but is unlikely to feature against Hull this weekend.
Davies joined the Blades after an odd spell with Premier League giants Liverpool.
The ex-Preston North End defender joined the Reds in January but failed to play a single minute during his time on Merseyside.
Sheffield United twice squandered the lead on Tuesday at home against Preston North End, who scored in the 95th minute to equalise.

Kenny acknowledged that the Blades have improved in front of goal, and expressed hopes that Davies’ return would “tidy up” the rearguard action.
“I think while Ben Davies isn’t fit, they’re looking short in that area,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“Letting goals in isn’t just the responsibility of the defenders, it starts at the front.
“I went on Tuesday, and Preston had quite a lot of chances.
“It seems that they’ve found their shooting boots and it seems to be coming together now.
“The manager has got them playing the way he wants going forward.
“However, it will be a concern that they’re conceding a lot of goals still.
“As soon as Davies comes back, he might tidy all of that up.“
The Bramall Lane side have struggled so far this season, earning just six points from six games in the Championship.
Sheffield United sit 19th in the table ahead of their trip to Hull tomorrow.
