Kenny issues Barry-Aston Villa recall claim after West Ham development
Paddy Kenny has urged Aston Villa to recall wonderkid Louie Barry from his loan spell at Ipswich if his game time doesn’t improve.
The former Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said Villa should send the 18-year-old to another club willing to give him regular football.
La Masia graduate Barry was hooked by Ipswich in the 66th minute of their 2-1 EFL Trophy loss against West Ham’s Under-23s side after failing to make an impact on the left flank.
The highly-rated youngster made the loan switch to the League One side in early August in a bid for first-team football.
However, Barry has featured for just 68 league minutes this term, with the Tractor Boys languishing in the relegation zone.
The youngster cannot be recalled by Villa until January.

Kenny insisted the Premier League side will have no qualms about finding another suitor if his derisory involvement continues.
“I don’t see why they wouldn’t bring him back,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“He’s a young lad who has gone out on loan to get some game time, but Ipswich are really struggling and they’re not scoring goals.
“He’s only getting 60 minutes to impress.
“If I was in charge of Villa, I would be looking at bringing him back.
“If his game time doesn’t increase, they should be sending him somewhere else where he can get the minutes he needs.
“That game time will only be good for his future development.”
Barry signed for Villa in January of last year for just under £1million after a spell with Barcelona.
He burst onto the scene after scoring against Liverpool in the EFL Cup last season.
