Kenny tips Sheffield United to sign creative star as talks open on Premier League deal
Paddy Kenny has tipped Sheffield United to sign a creative midfielder or a winger before next week’s transfer deadline.
The former Blades keeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted United had players “capable” of scoring despite their woes in front of goal this season.
As quoted by journalist Richard Sutcliffe yesterday (August 26th), Slavisa Jokanovic revealed he “hopes” to sign four players before the August 31 deadline.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month (August 19th) that Sheffield United had opened talks to sign Manchester United’s Ivorian attacker Amad Diallo on a season-long loan.
The Blades have made just one senior signing in this window in the loan capture of Liverpool centre-back Ben Davies.
Jokanovic’s transfer budget has been bolstered by the £30million departure of Aaron Ramsdale to Arsenal.

Kenny believes a lack of creativity in midfield is the route of Sheffield United’s problems in front of goal.
“I think it’s other departments they need to worry about, like supplying more chances to the strikers,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“Slavisa’s got enough at his disposal up front, for me. He’s got Brewster, McBurnie, Sharp and McGoldrick.
“A striker could be an option, it depends on who goes and who stays.
“For me, they need that player who can create the chances for the strikers.
“They already have the players capable of scoring.
“Brewster did it at Swansea, but he just hasn’t got going yet. They need to get him scoring to raise his confidence.”
The Blades have scored just one league goal this season.
The Yorkshire side are 23rd in the table after losing three of their first four – including a 4-0 away humbling at West Brom.
