Everybody associated with Rangers should be buzzing after Glen Kamara signed a new contract, according to Keiran Maguire.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the football finance guru insisted Kamara's new deal will benefit Rangers, Kamara and their fans.

The Gers announced earlier this week (September 22) that the Finland midfielder had put pen to paper on a deal that will run until 2025.

His previous Ibrox contract was set to expire in the summer of 2023.

And Maguire has insisted the new deal will mean the Ibrox giants will secure a good fee if he was to be sold.

He told Football Insider's Adam Williams: "Your assets taper in value as you reach that last 12 month period.

"There are benefits in getting your best talents to commit to a long-term contract for all parties.

"The player benefits because it will come with a pay rise, the club gets the protection if the player decides they want to leave or an offer comes in which is acceptable then it's more money.

"The fans potentially benefit in one of two ways. A, they potentially get to see Glen Kamara in a Rangers shirt for a long time. B, if somebody does come in then Rangers get a good price which allows the club to go into the transfer market and get a player of similar stature."

Kamara moved to Rangers from Dundee for just £50,000 in January 2019.
