Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the potential exit of Steven Gerrard from Liverpool, with speculation mounting that he is set to take the Rangers manager job.
Klopp was talking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Stoke.
He said that Gerrard “was, and is a legend. We support him in whatever he wants to do.”
He went on to say that if he owned a club he would consider signing Gerrard too.
Klopp was quoted by This Is Anfield on its Twitter page on Friday morning.
Klopp on potential exit of Steven Gerrard to Rangers: We support him in whatever he wants to do. He is still a Liverpool legend. I don't know the situation at the moment. I can imagine clubs are interested in signing Stevie – I would think about him aswell if I owned a club! pic.twitter.com/O0pSlMhNOU

Football Insider verdict:
This has all happened quickly but it seems like his move has Liverpool’s blessing and that Rangers want him. That puts the ball back in Gerrard’s court where it will probably all come down to money. if the Rangers hierarchy can convince Gerrard that they will give him the money he needs, he will accept. If he does, it’s a gamble that could see Rangers start to haul Celtic back in – or one that could backfire spectacularly. It’s one that all neutrals would love to happen though and it would be great for Scottish football.
