La Liga club Sevilla are planning to lure Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to Spain if Jorge Sampaoli becomes the new Argentina manager, according to a report.
The Mirror has claimed that while it would seem unlikely the Spanish club could attract the 45-year-old to Spain they will still attempt to move for him if Sampaoli does leave.
It is detailed that Pochettino has become one of Europe’s most sought after manager’s and it would not be surprising if his name is also in the frame for the Argentina hot seat.
However, he is still contracted to Tottenham until 2021 and as the club begins it’s move into a new stadium as well as making claims for the Premier League title, he may be tempted to stay in north London for the foreseeable future.
The Argentine has certainly proven key to Spurs since his move from Southampton in the summer of 2014 and while he may be tempted by a return to Spain it is likely to be for a club of Barcelona, rather than Sevilla, who are sat in a very respectable fourth place.
In other Tottenham news, Rio Ferdinand has hailed this Spurs trio in his Premier League team of the week.
