Frank Lampard is "fuming" at Kepa Arrizabalaga and wants him sold as soon as the Chelsea season finishes next month, Football Insider understands.

The Blues manager was tetchy with the media following the 5-3 Premier League defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday night that left his side's top-four hopes in the balance going into Sunday's final round of matches.

A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that Lampard's anger was mainly a consequence of his team's defending and especially their goalkeeper.

That stance has only solidified in recent times and the manager wants a deal done as soon as possible.

That will certainly not been easy as Chelsea face a major battle recouping a significant portion of the £71million fee paid to Athletic Bilbao two years ago.

The west Londoners are likely to suggest various deals including a knockdown fee or even a part-exchange.

Lampard is keen to recruit a top calibre keeper who can reach the same level as former number ones Petr Cech and Thibaut Courtois.

Arrizabalaga, 25, has regained his place in goal since the restart and played all eight of the Blues' Premier League matches.

But he has shipped 15 goals and, in total, has let in 47 goals in his 33 Premier League matches this season.

Arrizabalaga has been the first choice for most of the last two seasons but veteran Willy Calabero has taken over in the FA Cup and kept a clean sheet in last weekend's 3-1 win over Man United.
