Manager Thomas Christiansen has confirmed that Stuart Dallas will return to the Leeds United squad for Friday night’s clash against Sheffield United.
Dallas, 26, has missed Leeds’ last two games against Bristol City and Leicester after travelling home to Northern Ireland due a family bereavement and it will no doubt be a boost for everyone to have the winger back.
Christiansen also announced that Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will miss the Elland Road clash with Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United after sustaining an ankle injury during Wednesday night’s 3-1 loss to Leicester in the League Cup.
That means a trio of players have been ruled out of contention to play against the Blades with Caleb Ekuban, who is also sidelined through injury, and Gaetano Berardi suspended.
“He will be in the squad yes,” said Christiansen on Dallas, as quoted by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
When asked about Borthwick-Jackson, the Dane replied: “His problem is the ankle and he will be out. Caleb is also out but he will be back shortly.”
Summer recruit Ekuban has been out of action since August and has only made two appearances since he signed from Italian side Chievo.
Berardi is serving the second game of his three-match ban against the Blades.
The Swiss full-back was shown red at Bristol City last week for headbutted Matty Taylor and as a result was handed a lengthy suspension for violent conduct.
