Leeds have hinted on social media that they are closing in on the signing of Sporting Lisbon attacker Hadi Sacko.

New assistant manager Pep Clotet posted an image of some of the squad on Sunday as they arrived at their pre-season training camp in Ireland.

The identity of one tracksuited player at the back of the picture holding a while Leeds United bag immediately prompted plenty of discussion on social media.

It was speculated that it was teenage midfielder Ronaldo Vieira, who made his first team debut at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Some fans suggested it could be a potential new signing and Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay confirmed that was the case as he revealed that French winger Sacko was training with Leeds after joining their pre-season tour.

Sacko, who plays predominantly on the right wing, is a player of pedigree and has won five France Under-20 caps.

The 22-year-old has made only four senior appearances for Sporting Lisbon but spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan at French second-tier club Sochaux, scoring two goals in 14 matches.

Leeds have made two new signings in recent days, striker Marcus Antonsson from Kalmar and centre-back Kyle Bartley on loan from Swansea.
