Leeds decide how to respond to summer bids for Pascal Struijk amid Aston Villa transfer latest
Leeds United are prepared to do everything in their power to keep Pascal Struijk at Elland Road beyond the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has been a crucial part of Daniel Farke’s side this season and has played a key role in their battle against relegation, which could soon be a success.
Leeds are now well-placed to avoid the drop, with eight points separating them from the bottom three, and must now turn their attention to strengthening their squad.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds are already making plans for the summer, and keeping their best players will be key.
Struijk has been a mainstay in Farke’s side, and while Leeds are making transfer plans and eyeing potential additions, keeping their best players will be crucial.

During last summer’s transfer window, Football Insider revealed that Leeds would block offers for Struijk as he was set to play a key role in their Premier League survival.
That plan has now paid off for Farke and remains the same heading into the upcoming window, with the centre-back one of a number of players they plan to keep.

Leeds are hoping to strengthen their squad when the summer window opens and will look to improve by building around the likes of Struijk.
“Leeds have put themselves in a strong position to avoid relegation,” Brown told Football Insider.
“Their next task now has to be about keeping their best players at the club and strengthening around them with new top-quality additions.
“When you look through their squad, how many of those players are nailed-on Premier League players, and which ones would they be prepared to let go?
“Pascal Struijk is one of the former, he’s been brilliant and Daniel Farke sees him as a big part of his plans, so Leeds have to do everything they can to keep hold of him.
“Whoever might be interested in him, he’s such an important player for Leeds that letting him go would make them a worse team.
“The plan has to be to turn down any offers, and staying in the Premier League means they are in a good position to do that.”
Which clubs are interested in signing Struijk?
The Dutch centre-back has been a staple of the defence alongside Jaka Bijol and Joe Rodon, and his performances have caught the eye.
Football Insider revealed on 8 April that Aston Villa and Newcastle are interested in Struijk, and are keeping a close eye on his situation at Elland Road.

Tottenham and a number of European clubs are also believed to be plotting moves for the centre-back if he is made available when the window opens.
However, Leeds have no plans to let him leave in the near future and are not expected to entertain offers from Premier League rivals or clubs on the continent.
Sources say they are confident they can keep hold of Struijk and other key players after securing Premier League survival, despite the level of interest.
