'Not good enough' - Leeds fans pan midfield duo ahead of final fixtures

By Harvey Byrne

Leeds fans have panned academy duo Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira as not being good enough ahead of the clubs final fixtures.

The Yorkshire giants are currently nestled just outside of the play-offs with a spell of one win in their last six league games seeing them drop out of the top six for the first time since November.

There is also just two matches left of the current campaign with Leeds scheduled to host Norwich on Saturday before travelling to face Wigan on the final day.

This has left much of the fan base on social media worried that the club is set for another year in England’s second tier, which has led to the supporters calling for the club not to take any more chances and many believe that is exactly what starting young duo Phillips and Vieira is.

Some fans simply stated that the midfield pair were “not good enough” for a club looking to achieve promotion, while others called them out for their lack of goals from midfield.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds do boast a large number of midfielders in their squad and alongside Vieira and Phillips the club also has Eunan O’Kane and Liam Bridcutt.

However, none of the quartet are known for their abilities going forward with many keen to see some form of support for top scorer Chris Wood.

In other Leeds news, Whites fans have also reacted to Newcastle’s stadium raid.
