'Wild card' - Leeds fans demand fringe player earns first league start of season v Wolves

Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to demand that Paul Heckingbottom hands Hadi Sacko his first start of the Championship season against Wolves at Elland Road on Wednesday night.

Sacko, 23, was the first singing made by owner Andrea Radrizzani when he turned his loan spell at Leeds into a permanent one to the tune of £1.5million last summer.

However the former Sporting CP winger has barely made an impact on the first-team and is yet to feature in a starting line-up in the 2017/18 Championship season.

With Leeds drifting away from the play-off spots, fans believe that it is time that Heckingbottom gives Sacko the chance to impress against league leaders Wolves this week.

One fan believes that Sacko could be their “wild card” against the West Midlands club.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Sacko has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season with his only starts coming in cup competitions.

The fringe player has scored one goal, which came against Premier League side Burnley in the EFL Cup back in September.

Heckingbottom is facing a lot of pressure from fans to chop and change his squad after the 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Friday.

Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas started on the wings so one of them may have to be axed if fans get their wish and Sacko is called upon to start.
