Leeds United fans have been left fuming after new footage of Burnley star Hannibal Mejbri emerged following the defeat at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke's men fell to a frustrating 1-0 defeat against their promotion rivals at home after an 18th-minute goal from Luca Koleosho proved decisive.

However, it was footage off the pitch which quickly went viral on social media following the game which left the home crowd raging.

After Hannibal was substituted in the 73rd minute, he made his way around the pitchside, gesturing towards the home supporters as he did so.

Footage later emerged from the away end as a Burnley fan had recorded their star man winding up the opposition fans, with the Leeds supporters left fuming all over again.

This is not the midfielder's first clash with Leeds fans after he was targeted during an Under-21s clash while playing for Man United, and bit back at the crowd.

Hannibal's style of play also buys into his personality - as an aggressive and combative midfielder who does not shy out of winning challenges.

However, that style can often prove frustrating to home crowds, and led to plenty of abuse from the support at Elland Road prior to the incident.

His time spent at Old Trafford with Man United also played a part in the theatrics between himself and the crowd.

With hostility between the two parties already heightened, Leeds fans took to social media as they continued to vent their anger at the Burnley man.

Meanwhile, many supporters suggested he could have seen a second yellow card for his antics, having been booked during the game.
