Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to rage after it was reported that they were stepping up a hunt to sign Carpi forward Jerry Mbakogu.
The Mail reported that the Whites are ready to revive their interest in Mbakogu, 25, and are lining up a second bid for the Nigerian centre-forward in the summer transfer window.
It was said that Leeds made a £3.5million effort to sign Mbakogu from Serie B side Capri in the January transfer window, but the Italian outfit did not want to let the striker leave mid-way through the season.
The report added that the former Palermo player has applied for an Italian passport, which could smooth over any potential work permit issues that could arise in a move to England.
Leeds fans are thoroughly unhappy with the reported developments surrounding Mbakogu though.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga is due to leave Elland Road at the end of the campaign when his loan deal expires and many feel that they would prefer to sign the German on a permanent basis rather than take a chance on the Carpi forward, who has scored eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions this season.
One angry United supporter claimed that owner Andrea Radrizzani has “no clue” about what he’s doing.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
