Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Samuel Saiz for his performance in the shock 1-0 defeat to struggling Birmingham at St Andrew's on Saturday afternoon.

Saiz, 26, has missed out on the last two matches through a calf strain but was able to finally make the bench ahead of the Whites' trip to the West Midlands this weekend.

After 55 minutes, Thomas Christiansen decided to bring the Spanish attacker on in place of Pawel Cibicki in order to try and force a positive result against the Championship strugglers.

Leeds fans seemed to think that the attacking midfielder did enough to change the game against Birmingham, with hordes of the Elland Road faithful taking the social media to heap praise on the ex-Huesca ace.

One fan claimed that Saiz was one of just a small number of "quality" players in the Leeds squad.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Saiz has been one of Leeds' best players this season, however the Yorkshire giants did not miss him too much in his two-game absence as they won against Burton and Hull.

The Spanish playmaker has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring nine goals and supplying five assists in the process.

He scored a hat-trick on his debut for the Whites against Port Vale in the League Cup in August.
