Leeds United may have got their Championship promotion campaign back on track on Saturday with a win against Ipswich, but fans on Twitter were not happy with the performance of Vunon Anita.
Anita, 28, was named in Thomas Christiansen’s starting line-up for the 3-2 win over the Tractor Boys at Elland Road but was forced off after 60 minutes, seemingly after picking up an injury as he disappeared straight down the tunnel.
Gaetano Berardi replaced the three-times Netherlands international and many Whites supporters believe that he should come in an oust Anita from his left-back slot.
The former Newcastle defender, who signed for Leeds on a free transfer in the summer, has been a mainstay of the side in the opening weeks of the season, making 10 appearances across all competitions – nine of which being starts.
However fans have now had enough of the Dutchman and have slammed him for most of Ipswich’s best attacks on Saturday afternoon, with one supporter calling him “rubbish”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
#lufc Becoming pretty clear that Anita isn't a left back. Needs a chance in midfield maybe.

Another game in which Anita has struggled a bit. Wouldn't be surprised to see Berardi start Tuesday #lufc

Good change. Anita was struggling #lufc

Honestly, Beradi should be starting ahead of him. Hes a decent player, but seems to constantly get caught for pace in every game.

Berardi & Jansson need to be back in that defence.
I don’t understand playing Anita at LB at all.
Still not convinced with Felix.

Leeds ensured that they would stay top of the Championship standings with Saturday’s win over Ipswich, level on points with Wolves and next opponents Cardiff.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Kalvin Phillips and a Bartosz Bialkowski own goal helped the Whites earn all three points after David McGoldrick and Joe Garner scored for the visitors.
In other Leeds United news, Nigel Martyn has made a £200million claim about the Whites after their good start to the season.
