Leeds United fans on Twitter have been left confused after Pierre-Michel Lasogga was omitted from the squad to face Middlesbrough on Sunday without warning.

Lasogga, 25, was nowhere to be seen when the Whites announced the team news on their official Twitter account ahead of the crunch match at Elland Road.

Kemar Roofe has instead been drafted to play up front against Garry Monk’s Boro side, as the ex-Leeds boss returns to Elland Road for the first time since walking out on the club in May.

German forward Lasogga has been out of sorts in recent appearances for United but has still been a mainstay of Thomas Christiansen’s starting line-up in the Championship, where he has started all but one game he has been available for.

In total, the Hamburg loanee has made 11 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals in the process.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

However they go into the game without form being on their side having won just one of their last seven league outings.
