West Brom are close to agreeing a deal for Leeds defender Charlie Taylor – and fans on Twitter have provided mixed views on the news.

The Sun claims that the highly-rated left-back is wanted by Baggies manager Tony Pullis who is close to thrashing out a deal for the youngster.

The 23-year-old has missed the last two games for the Yorkshire club because of an Achilles injury as his future at Elland Road comes into question.

Certain sections of fans could not see him leaving the club in January, while others posed interesting questions about his future.

Supporters asked whether they would sell Taylor in order to sign popular centre-back Pontus Jansson on a permanent deal.

But others did state that signing Taylor, alongside the likes of Kyle Bartley, Jansson and Hadi Sacko, would be better than any new signing they could make.

However, one supporter did say that if the academy graduate was sold to the Premier League side then it shows the club has zero ambitions for the future.

At this moment in time, manager Garry Monk has guided the club to a play-off spot as they aim to reach the top flight for the first time in over 12 years.

Overall, certain sections of the Elland Road faithful were hoping he stays as they aim to tie their star player down to a long-term contract.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
