Kemar Roofe has been named in the EFL team of the week after his stunning display for Leeds against Preston on Saturday – and fans are delighted for him on Twitter.

Roofe, 24, returned to the Leeds side for his first start since March 11 by breaking the deadlock against Simon Grayson’s side during the 3-0 win at Elland Road.

The £3million signing played a neat one-two with Chris Wood before bundling the ball into the net past Lilywhites goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, prior to coming off in the 70th minute.

The EFL named Roofe in their team of the week on their official Twitter account following his performance, along with Wigan’s Gabriel Obertan and Bristol City’s Tammy Abraham.

In what was just his third goal of the season for Leeds, Roofe delighted fans on Twitter after his display earned him a place in the EFL’s best eleven of the week.

During his 43 league and cup appearances this season, Roofe has added six assists to his three goals and could now start against Newcastle on Friday night.

Leeds travel to St. James’ Park on Good Friday, hoping that they can go against the reverse fixture that saw the Toon win 2-0 at Elland Road back in November.
