Clearly doesn't want to play for us – Leeds fans slaughter one player despite win v Barnsley

Leeds held on for a narrow win against relegation-threatened Barnsley on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road, but fans were shocked at how poor defender Pontus Jansson was – and has been for weeks.

Leeds took the lead through a stunning Tom Pearce goal in the first half, after the youngster collected the ball past the halfway line before driving forward and shooting low into the right corner of the net.

However, the lead was short-lived after a poor header from Pontus Jansson hit another Under-23 player Paudie O’Connor for an own goal.

It was no less than Barnsley deserved but Leeds hit back and took the lead in the second half through an Ezgjan Alioski goal after some great work from Kemar Roofe.

That was enough for the three points, and maybe a stay of execution for manager Paul Heckingbottom, but it wasn’t a great performance from the home side.

Jansson, their talismanic enforcer, has come in for some stick this season after not hitting the heights fans know he’s capable of.
