Sources: Leeds send top scouts to watch Danjuma after Man United masterclass
Leeds United are keeping tabs on Villarreal forward Arnaut Danjuma amid his Wednesday Champions League masterclass, Football Insider has learned.
The attacker, 24, delivered a man-of-the-match display as his side were defeated 2-1 following a Cristiano Ronaldo winner five minutes into added time.
A Leeds source has told Football Insider the club are monitoring Danjuma as they assess wide forward targets with the potential to play at a high level in the Premier League.
They are sending their top scouts to assess the Holland international and had him watched at Old Trafford.
Liverpool are also keen on the versatile forward, who operates mainly on the left flank.
It comes after Danjuma went public during the summer with his admiration of Leeds and claimed a move to Elland Road would be a “great step”.
That did not happen as the wide man instead quit Bournemouth for Villarreal in a £21million deal.
Danjuma, renowned for his electric bursts of speed and dribbling, has made a big impact in Spain since his summer arrival.
He has scored three goals from seven La Liga and Champions League matches as well as the assist for Paco Alcacer’s goal on Wednesday when he pulled back a cross from the byline.
Danjuma joined Bournemouth from Belgian outfit Club Brugge in the summer of 2019 for £14m.
He made 52 appearances for the Cherries across two seasons, scoring 17 goals and supplying eight assists in all competitions.
