Leeds star has told club he wants to join Premier League outfit after bid made - report

Leeds star Chris Wood has told the club he wants to join Premier League outfit Burnley after a bid was made for the striker, according to a report.
The Daily Star has claimed on their website that the Lancashire club have made an initial offer of £12million for the 25-year-old New Zealand international, but the Yorkshire giants are demanding a fee in the region of £20million.
It is however said that Sean Dyche’s team are unwilling to go above £15million for the Championship striker and will make a take-it-or-leave-it offer in the next 24 hours.
This has reportedly led to fears stemming from Wood that a move could now collapse due to the valuation Leeds have placed on him.
A source is also quoted in the Star report as to saying: “Chris knows his stock has never been higher and wants a crack in the Premier League.

“But he also knows Leeds have to be realistic in their valuation and not hold out for a fee that is over the top.”
Wood has been a part of the Leeds team for two years following a 2015 summer move from Premier League outfit Leicester and last season he enjoyed a fine campaign which saw him bag 30 goals in 48 matches in all competitions.
He has already got off the mark in the new campaign with his solo striker against Bolton, but Leeds may now face a battle in keeping the powerful frontman as he reportedly favours a Turf Moor move.
Football Insider verdict:
If Leeds have any aspirations of winning promotion to the Premier League in the next campaign then it is imperative that they keep hold of Wood. The striker won the Yorkshire giants points on his own in the last campaign and without his goals they would have certainly finished lower than seventh. Goals in football are priceless and therefore Wood himself is for Leeds. He also still has two years remaining on his contract at the club, meaning that they must make sure he remains for the current campaign before then re-evaluating his future next summer when he enters he final year of his deal.
