Whelan backs Leeds to make mutliple striker signings amid 'massive' reveal
Leeds United may make multiple forward signings this summer.
That is according to ex-Elland Road man Noel Whelan, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed that Leeds have joined the race for 19-year-old Slavia Prague sensation Abdallah Sima.
The two-cap Senegal man has netted 19 times in 37 appearances for Slavia this season.
He will likely be familiar to a UK audience as the man who scored the tie-clinching goal to knock Leicester City out of the Europa League in February.
Whelan revealed that he likes the sound of Sima‘s profile and predicted that Leeds may end up signing “more than one” attacker in the coming window.
“I’m sure they’ve done their due diligence,” he told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“They’ll have got plenty of videos of the games that he’s played. It won’t be just off the back of one good game or one good season.
“He’ll be someone they think they can progress and improve and who fits into the system that Bielsa wants to play. He has a massive input as well, by the way. Everything comes through the manager.
“At 19 years of age, he’s scoring goals, he’s already matured and is playing in the first team, so yeah, absolutely. Let’s see where this one goes.
“There’s many out there that I think we should be looking at. We may well end up signing more than one striker, which would be massive.
“It depends on Greenwood as well, whether he can hit the heights that we expect. Hopefully, we’ll have a few to choose from next season.”
