Kenny fears Meslier will be 'tempted' to quit Leeds after latest
Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier will “definitely be tempted” if a glamorous club comes calling this summer.
That is according to ex-Whites shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 21-year-old Frenchman.
Meslier won Leeds’ Young Player of the Year award and was one of Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s standout performers in a brilliant season.
His exploits between the sticks helped Leeds to a 9th-place finish and he ended the campaign with the second-best saves-per-90-minutes record in the division (Wyscout).
And while Kenny believes Meslier would be best advised to stay at Leeds, he claims the youngster will find it hard to resist if an elite team comes knocking.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I think there will possibly be clubs looking at him. I think he needs a bit more experience yet.

“It’s a tough one because if a big club comes in for you, how can turn them down? But you can move too early in your career.
“He’s only 21 so he should get two or three seasons behind him in the Premier League. But as I say, can you turn it down if an offer does come in? It might never come again.
“He’ll definitely be tempted, I know that. But he’s still a baby really in goalkeeping terms.”
Meslier signed permanently for Leeds on a three-year deal in the summer after spending the previous campaign on loan at Elland Road.
He has featured 46 times for the club in total, 35 of those appearances coming in this season’s Premier League.
