Paddy Kenny 'amazed' by 'frightening' Leeds reveal
That Leeds United finished streets ahead of the rest of the Premier League in the running statistics is a “frightening” achievement.
That is according to ex-Whites shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Athletic revealed how much Leeds outshone their top-flight rivals in this department.
Marcelo Blelsa’s freshly-promoted outfit covered more ground and recorded more sprints than any other team in the division – and by some distance too.

The hard yards paid off and Leeds finished 9th in the Premier League standings, just three points off a European spot.
Kenny is in awe of the attitude Bielsa has instilled in his players, claiming it’s “no surprise” to see them prosper in the top-flight.
“It’s frightening, the work rate they show,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.

“Every player is amazing. The manager expects nothing less so it’s no surprise really. For them to finish on top of the running stats shows that hard work pays off.
“They finished 9th and that’s an incredible achievement. Their running has been a massive part of that.
“They have been a breath of fresh air as a promoted side. Hopefully, they can build on it again next season.”
Leeds’ high-intensity approach is no secret and led some to suggest they could suffer from burnout in the latter stages of the campaign.
But they lost just once in their last 11 matches, winning the last four by an aggregate score of 12-2.
