Leeds United: Ladislav Krejci wants Premier League transfer as Wolves reality emerges
Leeds United feel that Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci would “tick a lot of boxes” for them this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites have added the Czech international to their shortlist for potential summer additions, and it is understood that the 27-year-old is keen to remain in the Premier League next season.
The centre-back’s performances for Wolves have caught the eye at Elland Road, and sources have indicated that he is viewed as an ideal defensive candidate as he is left-sided and already has experience of playing in a back three.
Krejci is currently on loan at Molineux from La Liga side Girona, and while that switch is set to become permanent for £26million at the end of the season, Daniel Farke and Co. are already trying to offer him a way out.
Leeds want to strengthen their squad in all departments ahead of next season, and Krejci’s stance on a move looks set to play into their hands.

Farke is planning to continue using a back three, after a switch in system helped to re-vitalise his team’s campaign back in December, and as a result, defensive reinforcements are being targeted this summer.
Krejci has been identified as a strong option to come in and provide support for the likes of Jaka Bijol, Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk, whose future at Elland Road is uncertain in its own right.
| Stats | Krejci | Struijk | Bijol |
| Apps (Starts) | 26 (25) | 31 (30) | 21 (17) |
| Defensive Contributions per 90 | 7.35 | 9.5 | 10.3 |
| Tackles per 90 | 1.1 | 1.2 | 1.39 |
| Duels Won per 90 | 3.84 | 5.4 | 5.22 |
| Interceptions per 90 | 1.27 | 0.93 | 1.39 |
| Dribbled Past per 90 | 0.49 | 0.43 | 0.35 |
The West Yorkshire outfit would have hoped to potentially raid relegated Wolves on the cheap this summer, but that may not be the case if the league’s bottom club stick to their initial agreement.
Krejci’s imminent permanent move to the Black Country is set to include a release set above the £40m mark, according to the Express and Star, while Leeds are only willing to re-imburse their £26m investment.
That looks set to provide a potential stumbling block for any deal to take place this summer, although Krejci’s desire to play at the top level must still be considered by Wolves.
Leeds plan Pascal Struijk action as interest builds
Football Insider revealed last week that Leeds are planning contract talks with Struijk at the end of the season, in a bid to try and ward off the ever-growing interest in his services.
The likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle have been linked with moves for the Dutch centre-back in recent months, while he is set to enter the final year of his current deal this summer.
However, Leeds are determined to avoid losing him within the next few seasons, and are planning to sit down and open talks with him once their survival in the Premier League is confirmed.
Struijk has been a crucial figure for Farke’s men at the heart of the defence this season, and the boss is keen to try and build the backline around him again next term.
If he were to move on to a new challenge, then it would leave Leeds in need of a new starting option in their back three.
