Leeds United may already have Raphinha replacement in the building - expert
Leeds United may already have the long-term replacement for Raphinha in Crysencio Summerville, according to Noel Whelan.
The Whites ambassador, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Summerville, 20, could be handed a first-team role next season.
The winger moved to Elland Road from Feyenoord in September 2020.
He made his first-team debut as second-half substitute against Newcastle United last season.
Leeds United’s most established winger, Raphinha, has been heavily linked with a move away from Elland Road this summer.
When asked if Jesse Marsch has a potential replacement for the Brazil international in Summerville, Whelan told Football Insider: “That opportunity is definitely there.

“If Raphinha leaves there is an opening in that position.
“Summerville has a very successful campaign with the Under-23s. When you look at the grand scheme of things, everyone has a dip in the season.
“There is no doubts that this young man has talent. I don’t think a decision will be taken on his future until he has been looked at properly in pre-season.
“Everyone should be given an opportunity, especially the Under-23s who have been on the edge of the first team. Everyone needs an opportunity to show Jesse Marsch what they can bring to the side.
“Someone like Summerville could be needed next season. I don’t think any good youngsters can go out on loan until Marsch is confident that he has seen enough from them.”
