Leeds United will look to sign Jack Harrison permanently from Manchester City if they get promoted this season, Football Insider understands.

Harrison has been an ever-present in the Championship for United in his second loan campaign and developed into a consistently match winning winger after a mixed first season.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Marcelo Bielsa is a huge admirer of the 23-year-old and convinced he can make a big impact in the Premier League.

The Argentine will push for Leeds to make a move to sign Harrison full-time should they be one of the three second-tier sides promoted this season.

The wide man’s value has increased considerably this season and City will have noted how his productivity has increased over the last two months.

Nevertheless, Harrison is unlikely to force his way into Pep Guardiola’s team of superstars, where Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane are among the wide attacking players.

Bielsa has placed great faith in Harrison even though his first campaign – in which he made 34 league starts among 42 Championship appearances – yielded a relatively meagre four goals and four assists.

He has been even stronger and fitter this season and this has resulted in three goals and four assists from Leeds’ last nine league matches.

Harrison has been pivotal to the team’s run of five consecutive league matches and is emerging as a key player in their automatic promotion pursuit.

City signed him from their sister club New York City in January of last year before he was immediately loaned out to Middlesbrough for the second half of 2017-18.
