Leeds United tipped to sign 'hidden gem' on the cheap thanks to Jesse Marsch - pundit

Jesse March’s to the Red Bull Football Group will help to facilitate a Leeds United move for Tyler Adams.

That’s according to former Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about another potential signing at Elland Road.

On 14 June, The Athletic reported RB Leipzig are “open” to letting Adams, 23, leave the club this summer and named Leeds as a club who have been “connected” to the player.

Marsch coached the midfielder at the New York Red Bulls before working with him again at Leipzig.

Leeds have also already signed two players from RB Leipzig this summer, Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.

Kenny claims Marsch’s links to the Red Bull Football Group may have been a deciding factor in appointing him.

“Maybe this is why they would down the route of appointing Jesse Marsch,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He might be able to find these hidden gems who won’t cost absolute fortunes while still ending up being Premier League players.

“It could be a really good move from Leeds. We have seen the other two Red Bull guys come in already so, yeah, you can’t rule it out.”

Adams made 37 appearances for Leipzig during the 2021-22 season as he helped his side win the DFB-Pokal.

He joined the club from New York Red Bulls in the summer of 2019, leaving the club he joined as a youngster in 2011.
