Leeds United told to complete Brennan Johnson signing after what pundit saw in person
Leeds United are correct to have Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson on their radar ahead of the summer window.
That is according to former Scotland manager Alex McLeish, who was speaking exclusively to Football Insider after watching the 20-year-old in action against Fulham on Tuesday (26 April).
This site revealed last month (1 March) that Johnson is in no rush to commit his future to Forest – with his current deal expiring in June 2023.
It is understood that Leeds, West Ham, and Crystal Palace are monitoring his situation – as well as Brentford, who saw an £18million final bid rejected in January.
Johnson has notched 16 goals and nine assists in 47 appearances across all competitions for Forest this term.
McLeish insisted the Wales international is capable of going to a “high level” after watching him in action.

He told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge: “He had a few brilliant little flurries against Fulham but couldn’t quite get the finishing touch.
“He looks a very competent player, and you can see the confidence just steaming out of him.
“In all his play, every time he gets the ball – you can see opposition defenders just starting to panic. They’re scrambling to close him down.
“He’s definitely one who is correct to be on the radar of a club like Leeds. He can go to a high level.”
Forest could join Leeds United in the Premier League if they can gazump Bournemouth to automatic promotion or win the Championship play-offs.
The Whites sit five points clear of the drop in the top flight.
