Leeds United are "crying out" for a new forward like Noa Lang, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo's poor start to the season mean Leeds are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.

Talks were held between the Yorkshire giants and Club Brugge but the two clubs failed to agree on a fee.

Lang has begun the new season in electrifying form with four goals and four assists in 10 games.

The 22-year-old was named man of the match in Club Brugge's opening Champions League game against a Paris Saint-Germain side that included Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Asked whether Lang is what Leeds need to turn around their form, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: "They just need a number 10 who can get on the ball and make things happen.

"That's what they're crying out for. Every team has got one, teams that haven't are struggling.

"You need a player like that, especially when Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo aren't scoring. They're not scoring so they need something in there.

"If Lang's available, definitely go and get him."

Lang moved to Club Brugge from Ajax for just £6million over the summer after a successful loan spell last season.

The Netherlands Under-21 international is under contract with the Belgian club until the summer of 2025.
