Norwich City playmaker Emiliano Buendia would find it hard to reject Leeds United this summer.

That is according to ex-Leeds goalkeeper and new Football Insider columnist Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively about the 24-year-old Argentine.

Kenny believes the opportunity to play for his countryman Marcelo Bielsa could “sway” Buendia to swap Carrow Road for Elland Road.

Leeds have been linked with a potential move for Buendia as they assess alternatives to veteran Pablo Hernandez ahead of the summer window.

The Norwich attacker has been a shining light in this season’s Championship as the club close in on an instant return to the Premier League.

The Athletic report that Leeds director of football Victor Orta is a longstanding admirer of Buendia dating back a number of years.

Asked if Leeds could prise Buendia from Norwich this summer, Kenny told Football Insider:

“Definitely. He’s an exceptional player. Norwich are as good as promoted now and he’s played a massive part in that.

“Would he want to leave? Can you turn Leeds down? It’s a tough one. He’s Argentinian too. With Bielsa, that could sway it.”

Buendia has made 34 Championship appearances for Norwich this season, scoring 12 goals and supplying a remarkable 16 assists.

He is comfortably the top creator in the division, ahead of Liverpool loanee duo Harvey Elliott and Harry Wilson (both 11 assists).

Buendia joined Norwich from Getafe in 2018 for a fee of around £1.3million and has made 116 appearances in three seasons in England.
