Ex-Everton employee suggests the incredible wage Calvert-Lewin is getting at Leeds

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could well be earning around £200,000 per week to play for Leeds United.

That is according to former senior Everton scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.

The 29-year-old left Everton in the summer of 2025 when a new contract could not be agreed upon, ultimately joining the Whites on a free transfer.

Calvert-Lewin has since scored 20 goals across all competitions, and has five in just nine games already this season so far.

Everton have been criticised for their decision to let the England international leave the club, having reportedly withdrawn their contract offer following the arrival of David Moyes.

Yet the striker has since came out and claimed that it was his decision to leave the club, having eyed a fresh start after nine years on Merseyside.

'Calvert-Lewin is a £25million footballer'

Calvert-Lewin's move to Leeds has been transformative for both the player and the club.

The 29-year-old has shaken off his persistent injuries and is in the form of his career, leading an ambitious Leeds team superbly well.

Daniel Farke's side have started the new Premier League season excellently, and will hope to push further up the table.

"He left on a free transfer, played a lot of games for Everton. Played a lot of games, scored a lot of goals," King told Football Insider.

"But obviously, he looked at the situation and thought that he'd come as far as he could with Everton Football Club. That's how it seemed.

"And I wouldn't be surprised if he's on £200,000 a week now. It was a free transfer. You had to look at him and think, 'well, he's got to be a £25million footballer, hasn't he?'

"So, in accordance with that kind of fee and the kind of wages that he's going to negotiate, I'd imagine he's on a very good wage. He seems to have got a new lease of life - scoring goals, he got back in the England squad, proving that he is a good footballer."

Leeds star Calvert-Lewin ‘disgruntled’ by selection decision

Daniel Farke believes Calvert-Lewin worth every penny

Whatever Calvert-Lewin is earning, Leeds have undoubtedly secured a bargain for what they have received back.

"No one else wanted him, but we always believed in him and believed he would deliver," Farke said, after the striker had scored against Manchester United last week.

"He plays with good confidence and rhythm. He always comes to training with a smile on his face, and it's a great group to work with.

"I think he enjoys it. He has belief right now, and you can see that with what he's doing on the pitch."
