Leeds facing new Dan James fears after confirmed news
Dan James has suffered expotentially over the last two seasons as Leeds United have gone from strength to strength on the pitch.
The Welshman played a huge role in the Whites' promotion back to the Premier League, notching 12 goals and nine assists in 2024-25.
However, since being promoted back to the top flight, he has started just six Premier League matches and accumulated just 25 appearances.
Injuries have had a massive part to play in that, with the tricky winger often suffering from another problem just weeks after returning from an issue.
Without wanting to jinx him, the 28-year-old has managed to keep fit so far with limited minutes under his belt, starting both Carabao Cup fixtures.
He even netted into the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, firing home from inside the penalty area, and giving Matz Sels absolutely no hope.
Leeds United surely sweating over Dan James' fitness
James has clearly not lost his special touch, proven by his goal at the City Ground, but Daniel Farke needs to be careful with his return to the pitch.
That appears to be out of Farke's hands soon, though, with the international break coming up for all Premier League players.
The majority of fans at Elland Road would have expected James to be left out of Craig Bellamy's latest Wales squad due to his limited minutes.
Clearly, that is not the case, with the winger joining Harry Wilson, Ethan Ampadu and Jayden Lienou ahead of games against Portugal and Denmark, Norway, and Denmark again.
Does James have a future at Elland Road?
Right now, there are no signs to suggest that the Whites are anywhere close to giving up on James, who has given so much to the club over the years.
He is currently contracted at Elland Road until the summer of 2029, having signed a new deal as recently as July last year.
If he can stay fit, there is no reason why he can't still play a massive role in Leeds' attempt to fly up the Premier League table this season.
Football Insider revealed in February that Leeds had no plans to offload the attacker, despite a long-term injury at the time. Now should be no different.
