Wilfried Gnonto could make Leeds return after Fiorentina decision
Wilfried Gnonto may well return to Daniel Farke's plans at Leeds if he fails to earn a permanent move to Fiorentina, sources have told Football Insider.
Gnonto was used sparingly last season after playing a key role in the Whites' promotion back to the Premier League.
He suffered as a direct result of Farke's switch to a three-at-the-back formation, which he has continued to utilise this season.
The Italian winger was expected to leave the club throughout the summer, but only left late in the window as Fiorentina swooped to secure a loan move.
They have an £18million option to buy Gnonto, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, he could look to force his way back into Farke's thoughts next summer if the Serie A side decide against a permanent move.
The 22-year-old has already faced an obstacle since leaving Elland Road, with manager Fabio Grosso being relieved of his duties shortly after he made his debut for the club.

Gnonto may not be done at Leeds just yet, with his contract still set to run until June 2028.
Farke admitted that emotions were high as the 22-year-old left last week, but he may well be welcoming him back into the fold come the end of this campaign.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Fiorentina have that option to make the loan deal permanent come the end of the season, but a lot will depend on how Gnonto performs. If he performs well then Fiorentina will more than likely take up that option.
"If he doesn't, then he might return to Leeds, but I don't think the change of manager will have any massive influence on Gnonto’s long-term future because Fiorentina worked really hard to get him on board in the first place."
Lukas Nmecha considering Leeds exit amid contract uncertainty
Nmecha arrived at Elland Road last summer on a free transfer after leaving Wolfsburg at the end of his contract.
He impressed last season, registering 10 goal contributions in 37 appearances, but was only handed 10 league starts behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the attacking pecking order.
His contract with the club expires next June, and sources have revealed to Football Insider that Nmecha could push to leave Leeds if he continues to struggle for regular starts this season.
He has appeared off the bench in two of their three league fixtures so far, starting both of their Carabao Cup games and registering two assists.
