Leeds United 'confident' of agreeing deal soon as talks scheduled

Leeds United are confident of reaching an agreement with Daniel Farke to extend his contract, sources have told Football Insider.

Plans are being put in place behind the scenes, with talks expected to take place in the near future, and all parties are believed to be keen to extend the manager's stay.

Leeds fans have been calling for contract talks to be held all summer, but the club's focus was fixed on the transfer window, and they are now ready to move forward after the deadline.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Leeds are delighted with the work Farke has done to establish them in the Premier League.

The Whites cruised to safety last season and ultimately finished 14th, and are already enjoying a strong start to this season as they remain unbeaten after four games.

In fact, Farke's side have lost just five of the 23 league games they have played since the turn of the year, and plans are being put in place to reward the boss for his success.

Will Leeds offer Daniel Farke a new contract?

Football Insider revealed on 4 September that Farke could be set to land a new contract at Elladn Road with all parties shifting their attention towards his long-term future.

The boss currently has less than a year remaining on his deal at Elland Road, and work is being done behind the scenes to ensure he does not leave at the end of his deal.

As a result of the work he has done since arriving at Leeds in the Championship, there is a feeling Farke deserves a new deal, with optimism it will be agreed soon.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "We've got this upcoming international break in September. That might be an opportunity for Leeds to sit down and discuss things with Farke.

"But I think all parties are quite relaxed about this situation and I think confidence is high that a new deal will be completed in due course, whether that's before Christmas or afterwards.

"They had a fine transfer window as well and brought in some very good players to improve the squad, so I'm sure Leeds will be looking to sit down with Farke soon.

"Leeds want to reward him for what he's done at Elland Road since he took over, he's led them to the Premier League and established them in the top flight last season as well.

"So Leeds are looking to build on that for this season, and they want to keep Farke around to continue the good job he has done."

fWhen do Leeds plan to hold new contract talks?

Following the end of the transfer window, Leeds now have more time to plan for the future, with Farke previously insisting their focus was on landing new players.

As a result, Football Insider revealed on 6 September that Farke's contract talks could take place later this month, with the international break providing an opportunity.

The window will fall on 21 September and end on 6 October, with Leeds hoping to hold sit-down talks over the manager's future in that time.

However, Leeds are in no rush to reach an agreement, with all parties confident a deal will be done in due course, whether that's now or later in the season.,
