Leeds United 'confident' of agreeing 'huge' deal imminently
Leeds United are planning to accelerate talks over a new long-term contract for Daniel Farke, sources have told Football Insider.
Leeds have enjoyed a strong start to the new season and are unbeaten after four Premier League games, leading to calls for Farke to be rewarded for his work.
The boss' current contract is currently scheduled to expire at the end of the season, and the longer they go without an agreement, the more concern will start to grow.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Leeds are not panicking about Farke's future and remain relaxed over the situation.
With all parties keen to reach an agreement and extend his stay at Elland Road, work is now being done behind the scenes to make an offer that works for all parties.
Talks are expected to be held in the near future after a strong start to the new season, with the 4-1 win against Newcastle last time out inpisring new calls for Farke to stay.
What do Leeds have planned for Daniel Farke?
Football Insider revealed on 4 September that Farke looks set to land a new contract at Elland Road following the close of the summer transfer window.
Despite the boss having entered the final year of his deal in June, the focus for Leeds was set on bringing new players to the club to bolster his squad and his ambitions.
Having done that, and after a strong start to the season, plans are now accelerating for Farke to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Leeds are planning to accelerate talks with Daniel Farke in the near future.
"As I said before, there's no panic at Elland Road, there’s no real rush for Leeds to try and sort this out, they're confident they will get an agreement done in due course.
"All parties seem to be on the same page and are willing to get this new deal sorted between Daniel Farke and Leeds as well. It's a huge deal for the club.
"Look, he's into the final year of his contract right now, but Leeds want to offer him and tie him down to a new long-term contract, which I think he fully deserves."
When do Leeds plan to hold talks with Farke?
Speculation about Farke's long-term future at Leeds continues to ramp up the longer they go without an announcement, despite the club's lack of urgency over talks.
However, it is now expected that talks will take place sooner rather than later, as Football Insider revealed Leeds could sit down with Farke during the international break.
After a strong transfer window, followed by an impressive start to the season, they are planning to hold formal talks over an extension within the next couple of weeks.
Leeds will face Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Sunday before entering a three-week break, with their next game after Palace not coming until the face Arsenal on 10 October.
That will give all parties time to sit down and discuss their plans for the future, and hopefully those plans will be with Farke at the helm.
