Orjan Nyland is expected to secure a big contract at his next clubs with Leeds United among his admirers, sources have told Football Insider.

The 35-year-old has shone at the World Cup with Norway, where his performances have caught the eye of a number of clubs in the Premier League and abroad.

After England's 2-1 victory against Norway after extra time, talk over the goalkeeper's future is now expected to accelerate, with multiple clubs lining up offers.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Nyland's availability as a free agent means he will likely have no shortage of offers.

Leeds United have been tipped as potential suitors for the goalkeeper given their issues in net, and are believed to have been impressed by his World Cup displays.

While they are no longer believed to be among the front-runners, with other options on their radar, their rivals may hand Nyland the chance to make a big move.

Will Leeds United make a move to sign Orjan Nyland?

Football Insider revealed on 10 July that Leeds are unlikely to make a formal move for Nyland given his age and the other goalkeeping targets they are looking at.

However, that is not to dismiss the growing interest from elsewhere, with the goalkeeper having openly invited clubs to make moves following his impressive World Cup.

With Norway now returning home, his future is expected to be decided in the near future, and multiple clubs across Europe are now readying big contract offers.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Nyland has had a great World Cup. He's definitely put himself in the shop window just at the right time, having left Sevilla in the summer.

"Nyland is 35 now and I think there'll be a lot of clubs who'd be looking at him between now and the end of the window to see if they can bring him in.

"He's done his chances no harm at all of securing a big money contract and move away because of his World Cup exploits.

"But I think probably for Leeds if they're looking to bring in new number one they'll probably have other targets ahead of Nyland."

Which other goalkeepers are on Leeds' radar?

Despite having cooled their interest in Nyland, Leeds remain determined to sign a new goalkeeper and are working towards agreeing a deal in this transfer window.

A number of options are on their radar, including a number of domestic options, with the likes of Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale and James Trafford all considered at Elland Road.

Japan international Zion Suzuki has also been considered a target after his World Cup displays, but has indicated he would not be open to joining Daniel Farke's side.

More recently, Football Insider revealed on 7 July that Leeds are plotting a move to sign Derby County goalkeeper Jacob Zetterstrom after a strong Championship season.

Derby are now believed to be bracing for offers, with both Wolves and Eintracht Frankfurt also keen, and Leeds could be tempted to accelerate their interest.
