Sources: Leeds in advanced talks to agree double deal
Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri is in advanced talks to join Torino, sources have told Football Insider.
Multiple formulas are being discussed between the clubs, with United holding out on securing the permanent departure of the 28-year-old goalkeeper.
Torino had been looking to secure a loan deal for Perri, which will include an option to buy.
But a permanent move is now the most likely option as the Italian club aim to finalise a deal in the next days.
Currently, Leeds value the goalkeeper at £8.5million, despite signing him for £15.6m last summer from Lyon.
Nevertheless, a deal is expected to be done between the West Yorkshire club and Torino.
That paves the way for Leeds to sign James Trafford from Manchester City, with an agreement already in place over terms.
Where did it go wrong for Lucas Perri at Leeds?
When Perri arrived at Elland Road last summer, he came to the club with a big reputation.
The goalkeeper had heavily impressed in Ligue 1, and it was expected that he would finally solve Leeds’ goalkeeping issues.
Instead, Perri proved to be far too inconsistent and was eventually booted out of the starting XI for Karl Darlow after a 4-3 defeat to Arsenal in January.
According to Fotmob on 25 July, the goalkeeper heavily underperformed at Elland Road in the Premier League last season.
Overall, he had just a 56.7 save percentage, prevented -2.18 goals, kept three clean sheets, and conceded 29 times in 16 matches.
Therefore, it is no wonder that Leeds are happy to move Perri on and bring Trafford through the door this summer.
Who else could Leeds sell this summer?
Gabriel Gudmundsson has been heavily linked away from Elland Road this summer after an impressive Premier League campaign.
The full-back’s form then continued into the 2026 World Cup, which has only heightened speculation on a potential exit.
However, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Leeds will not sell Gudmundsson this summer and are prepared to rebuff any advances.
Gudmundsson arrived at Leeds from Lille for just £10million last summer, and it would take a significantly higher fee to begin a conversation about his future.
However, it remains to be seen who will depart Elland Road this summer, with plenty of twists and turns expected in the final weeks of the transfer window, as the club look to pull themselves away from the relegation zone.
