Leeds United scouts are keeping close tabs on Inter Milan midfielder Petar Sucic, sources have told Football Insider.

The Whites were heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old in the summer, and are still keen to try and sign him in the upcoming windows.

However, it is understood that a deal will prove "difficult" in January, as Inter do not want to weaken their squad amid their push for a second successive Serie A title.

Sources say that Sucic is more likely to move on next summer, but by that stage, there is expected to be extensive interest in him.

Leeds are long-term admirers of the Croatia international, but Inter are not "actively" open to offers for him at the moment.

Sucic made 54 appearances for the Italian giants in all competitions last term, and is expected to be a key figure once again in 2026-27.

Petar Sucic's contract issue

Sucic notched nine goal contributions during an impressive debut season for Inter last term, and he is hoping for a similar involvement this time around.

The former Dinamo Zagreb man is seemingly trying to use that form as leverage to re-negotiate the deal that he signed in 2025.

Recent reports in Italy have suggested that Sucic is angling for a pay rise at Inter, despite his current deal running until 2030.

That has created an element of uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at the San Siro, with the club's stance unclear at this stage.

Inter boss Cristian Chivu views Sucic as a valuable part of his squad, and any chance of an exit is only likely to come next summer, rather than any sooner.

However, if he does become available at that stage, then Leeds are set to face a battle for his signature with a whole host of European clubs.

Leeds star Calvert-Lewin ‘disgruntled’ by selection decision

Dominic Calvert-Lewin 'disgruntled' at Leeds

Football Insider revealed last week that Leeds striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been left "disgruntled" by his lack of football for England during the recent international break.

The frontman was called up by Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel once again, but was then only handed 15 minutes of action across the four Nations League games.

On the other hand, sources say that Leeds were quietly pleased with the way that Tuchel handled their star man, as they are keen to ensure that he stays fit for the entire campaign.

But, from Calvert-Lewin's point of view, the lack of opportunity to prove himself is understood to have left him frustrated.
