Leeds United have had a brilliant start to the campaign, but some of their hard work has become unraveled in recent weeks after defeats to Cardiff and Sheffield Wednesday.

Sunday's 3-0 hammering at Hillsborough was inexcusable and should give Thomas Christiansen a lot to think about during the international break before the Whites return to action against Reading at Elland Road.

Leeds brought in a good number of players of the summer and the squad looks barely recognisable now to the one that finished just outside the play-off spots while Garry Monk was in charge last term.

While most of them new arrivals have fitted in straight away, some of them are struggling to find their feet in Yorkshire and perhaps need more time to settle down.

Others are barely playing and are finding it tough to cope with the rotation system that Christiansen has deployed so far.

Despite all the positives, there are still players who need to improve on their displays this season.

Felix Wiedwald

Wiedwald arrived from Werder Bremen in the summer and instantly took the No 1 goalkeeper spot from Robert Green.

However the big German is yet to really convince anyone that he is going to be a good long-term solution between the sticks after a stuttering start to life at Elland Road.

The 27-year-old counts too much on his defence and when they don't perform he gets found out all too easy by the opposition.

It's unlikely that Andy Lonergan will come into the starting line-up any time soon with Christiansen clearly in favour of Wiedwald, but he must improve his performances soon otherwise it could see Leeds concede too many goals to make a solid promotion bid.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson

When Christiansen would rather play people out of position than call upon his only natural left-back then you know Borthwick-Jackson isn't playing well.

The Manchester United loanee seems more like an undercover agent than a Leeds player and he really needs to step up to the mark if he doesn't want his temporary stint at Elland Road to become a total and utter disaster.

The summer signing has only played once in the Championship this season and has since found himself completely axed from Christiansen's matchday squad.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Man United recall the 20-year-old in January to exit Elland Road after what has so far been a very miserable start to his loan spell.

Mateusz Klich

It's really tough to write about Leeds' three worst players because so many have them have been great this season.

However Klich has been by no means one of the best and he has really struggled to show Christiansen why he is worthy of playing regular football in the Championship.

The midfielder's appearance against Cardiff last week was an unmitigated disaster and it will surely ruin his chances of playing again in the near future.

The Poland international arrived with more promise than more other summer signings due to his track record, but so far he doesn't look like he'll pull up any trees and if promotion is earned he won't have played too big of a part in it.
