'It's a very dangerous situation' - Finance Guru drops verdict on Russell Martin at Leicester City after latest bust-up
Leicester City's owners will be re-evaluating Russell Martin's future at the King Power Stadium after his latest bust-up with supporters.
That is according to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider that the Foxes are on the edge of a "very dangerous situation".
Following relegation from the Championship, Leicester were expected to storm League One, but things have been far from simple in the East Midlands.
Martin's side are currently sitting 17th in the League One table, one point above the relegation zone, with the manager continuously clashing with the fans.
On multiple occasions, the 40-year-old has been recorded while hitting back at frustrated fans, and the clips have certainly divided opinions.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that he expects Leicester to pull the trigger sooner rather than later, but it may not be that simple.
Leicester City 'cannot cope with League Two'
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson believes that the under-pressure manager has until the January window to turn things around.
"It's a very dangerous situation. So it's not going to be a matter of whether they can afford to sack Russell Martin," he said.
"They have to start winning on the pitch. I know it's easier said than done, but it's not a club that can cope with League Two. One way or another, they're to have to find a way.
"January is a good line in the sand and they may need to bring in some players, and it may be that they need a new manager.
"But as I say, they just can't risk going down. It's really that simple. It's very dangerous. This is not a normal situation."
Where is Russell Martin's side expected to finish?
Right now, the future looks very bleak for the Foxes, who are one point above the dropzone and six points off the play-off spots currently.
Most of the footballing world expected Leicester to win promotion straight back to the Championship, but that confidence has disappeared.
Opta currently predicts a 12th-place finish for Martin's side, with just a 1.72 per cent chance of winning the League One title after a poor start.
More worryingly, their chances of simply winning promotion have dropped all the way to four per cent. Something needs to change at the King Power.
