Celtic are ready to sell Kristoffer Ajer this summer if their £20million asking price is met, Football Insider understands.

The giant Norwegian defender is attracting strong interest from Leicester City, while AC Milan are also keen on him.

A source with knowledge of Ajer's situation has told Football Insider that the Celtic board have made up their minds to let him go at the right price.

That is £20million despite the financial uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic and what are expected to be tumbling transfer prices this summer.

It would represent a huge profit for the Hoops on the giant defender, who signed in January 2016 for £550,000.

Celtic have made a number of attempts to tie him to a new deal to replace his current agreement, which expires in 2022, but he has rejected them.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is a big admirer of Ajer and played a crucial role in his development during his three years as manager of the Scottish giants.

Ajer has developed impressively over the last 18 months and established a strong centre-back partnership with Christopher Jullien in the current campaign.

He has made 129 appearances for the club, including 49 this season as Celtic secured a ninth consecutive league title.
