Alan Hutton has insisted Tottenham chief Daniel Levy will slam the phone day if Real Madrid try to negotiate the cut-price re-signing of Sergio Reguilon.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs full-back insisted Spurs would demand the Spanish giants trigger their buyback clause in full if the 24-year-old is to return to the Bernabeu.

As reported by Defensa Central (10th October), Real Madrid are considering a move to bring to re-sign Reguilon after selling him for around £25million (€30million) last summer.

The Spanish heavyweights reportedly inserted a £33.8million (€40million) buyback clause in the terms of the transfer.

However, they reportedly want talks to renegotiate a deal worth up to £27.9million (€33million) for his return.

Hutton admitted insisted Spurs chief Daniel Levy would make his stance very clear to the La Liga giants.

"That'll be a 'no' and the phone down," Hutton told Football Insider's Russell Edge.

"It's as simple as that. I don't see why anybody would want to renegotiate for a lower fee, especially when we're talking about Levy and Tottenham here.

"There was a fee put in there for a reason. Whether Real Madrid like it or not, that's the fee and that's what they'll have to deal with.

"That will be a very short conversation."

Reguilon has established himself as a regular at Spurs, with 46 appearances under his belt so far.

A marauding full-back, his penchant for attacking has seen him contribute eight assists to date.

However, he is yet to find the back of the net himself.
