Pundit: 'I have no doubt' Kane is telling fibs after Tottenham confession
Paddy Kenny has claimed Harry Kane is still “affected” after failing to secure a move away from Tottenham this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds goalkeeper insisted the 28-year-old is a long way off the levels expected of him.
As quoted by the Times (14th October), Kane admitted his performances had not been up to standard but insisted it was not because of the speculation that surrounded him this summer.
He claimed he is “as clear as anything” in his mind after failing to secure a move from Spurs to Manchester City.
The England striker scored his first Premier League goal of the season against Newcastle United on Sunday.
As revealed by Football Insider back in April, Kane was “hell bent” on leaving Tottenham this summer.

Despite the striker’s claims of clarity and focus, Kenny insisted the saga would still be playing on Kane’s mind.
Kenny told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s got to come out and say that, doesn’t he? The move didn’t come off, he’s a Tottenham player.
“I think his performances have shown that he is not up to what we expect from Harry Kane and what we’ve had over recent years.
“Listen, I’m in no doubt that it has affected him. He reportedly put in a transfer request at the end of the day, didn’t he? He wanted to go to Man City.
“The deal didn’t go through and he’s had to pick himself back up, I’m sure. He’s got to just get his head down and score goals.
“I’m sure if he wants a little further down the line, it might come at a later date.”
